Hi just curious what people are using for satellite systems to use in conjunction with Bell Expressvu. I currently have an R4sl system. I'm in Florida right now and I can get the system to lock on but only to some transponders. I called KVH today to see if I needed to be updating the dish. They told me that Expressvu lowered the signal strenth in the last 8mths and that this far south without a fixed 24" dish you won't be able to get all transponders. He said anything south of carolinas will be hit and miss. He told me they don't make a system any better. Does anyone know of a system that is better?

Thanks
Jon

We use Star Choice/Shaw Direct. With any issue, we can call them and they will walk us through a fix no matter where we are. The problem with Bell is that yes, you will lose some transponders, but they will also "shut you down" if they know you are out of Canada(been there, had that done). Because of the elliptical dish shape of the Shaw, I doubt that you can use your tracvision set up. The auto Winegard Traveller is the best set up, but we use a portable 75 cm dish on a tripod...not the best, but it works. Hope this helps.

We were recently in the western southern states, we have bell expressvu and a wineguard dome. We had difficulty getting 91 and 82 is out of the question so no hd. As stated by previous poster Bell is not the provider of choice for Canadians going south. To make matters worse I turned off my pvr to save power while gone and got home to find that Bell had turned it off because it was not online sucking up power. Nice, right in the midst of the playoffs. I wish I had gone with Starchoice.
