It depends if you want High Definition or Standard Definition.
I have a SD dish and the KVH Tracvision was the most affordable and works great with Direct TV. It was easy to install for me.
What satellite provider are you using?

Hi dutchie01,
Another vote for KVH. I have standard Def. More importantly since the dome was installed in 05 it has performed flawlessly. It has worked as advertised and I would make the same purchase again.

Do you travle with kids? Is there a reason you want an in motion? We had one, never used it on the road.

A dome is extremely limited for HD reception. Not an issue for many now, but I wonder how long SD will remain available. Technology moves faster than any of us can keep up and, in general, the public wants HD. I can see a day when that's all the satellite companies provide.

We have had Wineguard, King Dome and now KVH all with SD and Directv. All worked about the same but I think the KVH tracks a little better.

I do not see Directv or Dish changing to HD only for many many years as there are so many SD receivers and customers who do not want to switch and have to pay more money!

The KVH R5SL and R6SL will switch between multiple satellites, (unless your wife’s favorite program is on).
I installed a KVH R5SL about 2 years ago and I am very disappointed in it. It will work most of the time, but occasionally it goes off into never land when switching satellites.
You also must be careful where you park as trees can easily block the signal.
