I just started using my new Plantronics 520 headset, and I can highly recommend it.

I had been using a Motorola 850 that didn't have enough volume and was uncomfortable.

iRV2 member CSX4350, John, has the 520 and recommended it.

I noticed that John's headset had a bit of an ear bud that directs the sound into ear canal.

I no longer need maximum volume to hear well and it's very comfortable.

$42.99 from AMAZON.COM.

Dirk, How does it sound from the other end? I have a Plantronics 665 and everyone complains they can barely hear me for background noise. I had the 655 and when I called Plantronics about this issue they replaced it with the 665 that is supposed to have better noise canceling but it is no better. Basically, if it is not totally quiet around me the other person has a very hard time hearing me but hears everything else quite well even if the noise is very low and very far off. I love the earbud fit and I hear quite well, but rarely use it because it is such a hassle. If that one works better I may consider switching. I would think all of the chargers that came with this one might work with that one. I do like the design.

Wanna fix background noise: Alph Jawbone 2 Period..

My standard demo is during a conversation to roll all the windows down at 60+ MPH (and you cannot tell)and turn off the noise canceling. Short of almost screaming, the party on the other end cannot hear me until I turn the noise canceling on again. Usually it's so noisy in the car I can't hear them either.

If you need quiet, it's worth $130

They also make the Jawbone/1 thats about twice the size but 1/2 the price.

I have asked everyone I've talked to how I sound, and they all say it sounds good.

I agree with Jeff that the Jawbone is considered the best and most expensive.

Like Jeff notes, any situation that is too noisy for you to be heard is usually too noisy for you to hear also.

We have the Jawbone (original) with a K1M phone and it's great.y complaint that I have is that on roads that aren't the smoothest that the piece that is suppose dto rest against your jawbone can bounce a little making it hard for the other person to hear you, but that's a minor inconvenience.

SCVJeff -- what would the advantges be of the "II" over the original be...ie is it worth upgrading?

Dunno.. If you already have a 1 and are happy with it, it's probably not worth the expense. There are several 1's around the office that I talk to all the time and they seem to work as good as the 2, and some like the larger size as well.
