I have AT&T and I use it for both voice and data... My wife and I have iPhones and a Sierra Wireless 881u air card for our laptop.I realized we have a weak signal inside our HR 2006 Ambassador and that is not going to cut it when we are out on the road in worse coverage areas.

I did some research on here and found some good info, but I rather be completely wireless... nothing connecting to our phones or air card. I found this repeater kit that I am interested in...

Wilson Dual Band RV Kit

I was wondering if any one has any experience with this specific product or any other for that matter that worked and was worth the cost.

Any in sight and advice is appreciated.

First - I do not own this. I did a lot of research last year and this is the set up I almost purchased (cell coverage improve at home so I changed my mind). It appears to be one of the most popular based on checking here and RV.NET. I did call Wilson to confirm I was getting the proper components and found them very helpful and very willing to help even if you do not buy from them directly.

That is almost exactly what I'm using, I have the slightly taller "Trucker antenna" with a 12' cable and a slightly different inside antenna and the 801245......
This combo is one strong unit when the cells are far out, Also use the CTR 350 router for multi laptop use.....

We have a Wilson antenna (no idea what model) that we use on the cell phone and the Verizon air card. Not at the same time of course. Works great in low signal areas. Went from 1-2 bars on the cell phone to a full 5. Speeded up the computer as well.
I had to get an adapter frm the 3G store to fit the air card.

Wow! Thank you all for the prompt responses! I'm super excited now... I thought this could take days!

So I see Wilson Electronics is the way to go huh?

This must be a great kit to have on the road!

I'm going to call and purchase! Yay! I just hope I have the same luck that everyone else had here with their Wilson Products

Thanks again!

I would call/check around to find some better prices.....

The outside/inside antenna configuration works the best (for me) and NO wires or connections are needed to clutter up the area...

I really like the "CTR 350" router for 2 or more laptops and in a weak signal area I can sit outside and and use all of my equipment at the same time.

You might want to note that there is a minimum distance required between the repeater transmitting antenna and the external antenna.
In my case because of my fiberglass roof and where I wanted to mount the external antenna, repeater, and wireless router/aircard, I could not get the separation required.
The technical customer service guys at Wilson are very helpful and it would be worth talking with them about your proposed installation..

Thanks for the advice. I did just that. I called Wilson first about what I wanted to accomplish and they were a great help and they recommeded the company from which I was looking at the kit from.

I also did a price comparison to similar systems as the one I wanted on other sites called around 4 diff stores and asked them about the product and who would I call if I have any issues with the system. Most said Wilson directly.
I was like "We'll I'm buying it from you, can I call you for help?"
They said sure, but Wilson knows their products better than we do.

My thoughts are: What the deuce? I dont know if theyre just being lazy or its their poor effort at customer service. I cant believe these dealers are selling things they know nothing about! I guess theyre just trying to make money. My biggest pet peeve is some one that sells something and doesnt know what they're talking about! What if they tell you to get the wrong thing? Waste of my time and yours! Come on people its your business learn more about what you sell and have better customer service!

Well I decided to go with Wilson's recommendation, www.unwiredsignal.com, because they recommended them. By the time I got around to calling them I was so tired of hearing the same thing that I didnt even ask those questions.

To my surprise, when the guy, Jeff, was telling me about the system the said things like we send you great instructions, a line drawing of how the system sets up, and if you have any issues before, during, or after installation, you can call me back and I'll troubleshoot it with you!!!!!!

He sold it to me!

Well I shall let every one know if he lives up to his word... I will definately be calling him back. If all goes good I will recommend them to all having similar issues.
