Bricked my WifiRanger after update
Looking for someone that has used the Reset button to revive the WifiRanger after it becomes unresponsive. I have tried pulling the plug to reboot, no luck. Do you really have to reboot 4 times using the specified delays, immediate, 2:30, 3:30,3:30, to revive this thing?
What happens if you use the reset button that you are warned not to use?
The problem start after an unsuccessful update of firmware attempt. The update said 100% complete but the unit has not responded since.

I forgot to include this from the owners manual:
Cautions & Risks
Leaving the WiFiRanger alone for several minutes will allow the update to complete. If the WiFi-Ranger loses either power or internet during the update process, the router may become inaccessible and unresponsive. In the unfortunate and infrequent event of an upgrade failure, contact WiFiRanger support to receive the appropriate troubleshooting and solution

Read the manual a couple times
Yes I read the reset instructions, the user manual and the warnings about unattended updates. Being a Saturday afternoon when the updates failed . I was sitting at the PC when the update said 100% complete. Some how the way I had the internet connection configured the link must have failed. I am not blaming Wifiranger ranger for the failure, it happens with all sorts of equipment.
Unfortunately CS is not unavailable until Monday and I am trying to recover this before Monday. I’ll try the 4 reboot procedure today, Sunday and see if that works. My question is with the odd 4 reboot procedure and if that fails then what? Wait until Monday when tech service is available I guess. Luckily Monday is not a On Road day for me.

Hi Joe:
Sorry your Ranger needs to be reset. Unfortunately, the reset button on a cannot be used for this purpose. The Ranger can be easily be reset from its onscreen control panel but, if you can't access that, you must use the procedure of rebooting it several times. I've attached a PDF that explains how to perform a reset. Hopefully, that will make it operational once again. Don't forget that a reset will change the password back to the default setting as noted in the attachment.

Joe:
When you use a LAN connection can you get to the Control Panel? Don't worry about whether or not you have an internet connection. If you can get to the Control Panel, you can perform a reset using the button on the bottom of the Setup tab.
If you can't get to the Control Panel with an Ethernet cable then, quite possibly, you have completely bricked it. Sorry.

No. Unable to get past the Message . No access to the control screen. Does not broadcast nor allow access through the LAN line.

Call Customer Service and open a ticket. Sometimes if the device is returned for service the ROM can be reflashed and everything will work again.

Wifiranger has a technician that was able to visit me at Newmar Service Center this morning. He replaced the Core and is working on syncing the Roof top unit to the Core now. We had a very informative discussion regarding the capabilities of the Wifiranger. As I learn more about the unit the more impressed I am with its capabilities.

After some odd issues the WiFi ranger is back in operation. The new core unit appears to be working as intended. The Sky3 apparently does not work with close in signals that the Core easily receives but is for longer range signals so I am told by the techs on the phone.
I have the Pepwave connected via LAN 2 to take any Wifi signal and combine it with the Verizon Data signal before broadcasting to the coach wireless network. Sometimes there is all sorts of bandwidth and sometimes not so much. My guess is that there is something I have done incorrectly in the Pepwave setup.
I'll keep at it as I think for me this is the proper setup.
