Can I watch Cable and Satellite together??

Hello All,

We are taking our shakedown cruise this weekend and the campground that we are going to has cable hookups. I know how to hook up the cable and then select cable button on switcher box....My question is can I also use my Kingdome on one of the TV's at the same time as another TV is watching a Cable selection? We have DirectTV and we have many of the premium channels and may want to watch an HBO or Showtime movie that we already subscribe to.

Thanks in advance for your input.

Faith

We do it all the time. My wife and I have different ideas about what is "entertaining programming" on TV.

So long as the feed to each television has individually selectable inputs, sure. If the input is dependent upon the position of the amplifier switch on the batwing antenna (light off for cable, light on for batwing) you may have to do some rewiring.

The status of my batwing antenna has no effect on my tv viewing unless the switchbox is set to 'antenna' for each set.

The answer depends on your rig.. I just helped a camper with his over the air TV, HIS rig has a dedicated "SAT IN" cable on it, it ran to a simple feed through on his antenna switch panel.. He could do it.

Many Sat TV receivers today have ATSC OTA receivers built in so in his rig, if I made one small wire change, I could watch Sat, Cable and OTA all on the same TV

HINT: if your TV has A/V in, and your sat receiver has A/V out, AND it's own antenna (LNB) cable (You did not re-wire the park cable lead, which by the way you should not do) Then use A/V (Red/White/Yellow RCA or Phono plugs and jacks) to hook the sat receiver to the TV instead of the Antenna cable, you get a far better picture and .... This leaves the antenna jack free for "Other things"
