Cellular WiFi Puzzlement

In March, I signed up for the VZW prepaid unlimited plan, bought a used 7730L which is Cat 9 and does band 66. It worked well for 10 days of camping in Maine at 20Mbps, but when I got home, it struggled to do even 1Mbps and showed a 3G connection even with a MiMo antenna. I assumed that my 1 tower town just didn't have 3G.
My main cell phone is on the AT&T network, and even with just 2 bars gets about 8Mbps. Then I got a Visible phone for backup and it also does about 8Mbps at home. Using NetInfo Lite, I found that both are using band 66 with bands 2 and 5 available.
Any idea why the 7730L couldn't get the job done? I dropped the plan so I con't do further testing, but even my Huawei B310-518 which DOES NOT have band 66 get 5-8Mbps with an AT&T SIM. The 7730L can aggregate bands and should have done well at home.
I guess the good news is that I have both AT&T and Visible unlimited internet for a total of $75/month versus just VZW for $65/month.

Just their special way of saying “go away.”
