You will need to change the LNB on the dish to Dish Network LNB and set the coordinates to pick up dish signal(different from direct)

direct

I have had both. I like direct MUCH better!! Using direct you only need to find one satelite and on dish you need two. I had direct on my coach when I bought it and changed out to dish (mistake). We are now back to dired and would't change. I have an automatic satelite finder on the coach and didn't have to change out anything. My two cents

If you had direct at home you could just take your reciever along when you travel Quickest way to get the service if you have none is call Direct and ask about their packages. You can get the LNB off ebay

If its already on direct I won't need another lnb??

Direct sounds better - cant be worse than watching re runs of everybody lived Raymond - every night
I don't think I can turn direct off like you can with dish
I can't use the service while I'm out of the country - a small price to payl

That is right. You just need as Direct reciever. Maybe someone you know that has Direct could loan you one when you travel. Now that would be a plus

Sounds like you have a Motosat DataStorm dish with a D3 controller.
That dish main LNB is for satellite Internet and won't work for TV.

But it may have a BOW on it set up for TV. But you must know what internet satellite it is set up for, so the BOW LNB will see the DirecTV 101 satellite.

The arm sticking out is my BOW for DirecTV HD
