Changing Directv Service Address??

I will be spending about 3 weeks at 3 different campgrounds which are all in the same footprint of the Shreveport, La. area. Two of the campgrounds are within 50 miles of each other and the third location is 78 miles away and actually in Shreveport.

Would I be able to use one of the addresses and get the locals at all 3 locations? I was thinking of using the middle campground address.

I have successfully used that strategy.

Just call customer service and request to have your "service address" changed. They'll ask if you've moved (yes) and your new address. I have used the address of a relative that we were visiting for an extended period of time.

I purposely do NOT give them more information than they need to accomplish the task. I don't tell them that I'm in a motorhome. I don't tell them that I'll be in a different campground in a couple of weeks. I don't tell them this is a temporary change. Just a simple, "Please change my service address to..." I usually remind them that my billing address remains unchanged.

I don't do this frequently; only when we're going to be in one location for an extended time and I can't get the local channels OTA. I'm sure their records keep track of every service address change.

Probably. Only DirectTV can say for sure, but in general terms the spot beam is good for about a 150 mile radius. But I have gotten locals up to 300 road miles away at the far end of the state

I have the 99s satellite footprint for Shreveport on Google Earth and all three locations are well within the inner loop. I just have to make sure I can get that satellite in strong enough.
