Changing DirecTV Travler to Dish

I have a Travler Dish on my roof that is for DirecTv. I have been told that there is a kit to change to Dish. Has anyone done this and how is it done? Now that DirecTv is with AT&T I would like t change to Dish.

Hi TXTiger,

Do you know the model number of your specific TRAV'LER or how old it is? It's likely a simple change over of the reflector/feed arm assemblies and potentially removing some components from the coax cabling, but we'll need to know your setup to give the best answer.

I changed out my setup a few months ago and it was fairly easy to do. I sent the model number to Winegard and they told me what I would need. Their cost was about the same cost as Amazon. The swap out of the dish was easy, but the reprogramming was a little tedious. This was mainly due to having access to the control box. In my case I had to stand on the drivers seat and then stoop down to get under the door for the cabinet. All of the directions are in the instruction book that came with the dish parts.
