How do I clear a bunch of unwanted e-mails without clicking "Delete" on each individual e-mail? Surely there is a fast way when there's several pages to delete. I'm currently on a HP laptop with Vista using Windows Mail.

Any suggestions appreciated.

I go to my web mail page, (I find they are all about the same), there I click the square that says "clear all", it puts a check mark in front of all that I want deleted. I click "delete" and it is over. If you want to save a couple, just remove the check mark from the box in front of them.

Send a message via Skype™ to The Danes Are Coming
"Ctrl" and "a" pressed down at the same time normally selects sll. Then press delete.

Beware: This removes all the e-mail in whatever box you are currently in.

In Outlook Express, highlight the first e-mail, then while holding down the shift key, highlight the last e-mail. They will then all come up blue. Hit delete, and they all go at once.

Sounds good. I think even with my limited computer ability I'll be able to handle that.

Thanks for the suggestions.

I am really good, my DSO says BAD, about deleteing emails that I, She thinks are important. So now I forward anything I think might come up, get me in trouble, to her . Also if there is something I want to keep, like video golf lessons, I click the move to a new folder and add them. Nice clean email...and DSO doesn't suspect a thing ....D

All most all programs will delete a selection of emails by holding down the shift key, clicking on the first item, and then the last item in the sequence. Right click and click on delete, or hit the delete key. Hitting the delete key may not work in all instances, but the right click usually does.

The above is for a continuous sequence, but what if you want to selectively delete messages that are not in sequence. Typically you can use the CTRL key. Hold it down and then use the Mouse to click on the mail that you want to delete. Once you have a bunch of them selected, right click and choose "delete," or try the delete key. It is better do do both in short sequences. Why, because if you let go (accidentally of course) of the CNTRL key, the next press of the mouse will only choose the item you were on and all previous clicks will be "unhighlighted" an you will become a little upset because you have to start over. (Don't ask how I know.)

The above procedures will also work on a MAC but instead of the CTRL, use the Command key.

On outlook in the Deleted Items list, click Edit, click Select All, then hit delete. It will give you one chance to reconsider before they all are history.

P.s., don't forget to delete the "deleted" items mail box to empty it from time to time. Usually you can right click on the mailbox and click on "empty." Somtimes it is called "trash."
