My new to me Winnebago has a King-Dome 9702 satellite dome installed on it. I have finally gotten all the little things done that I really needed and am looking at using the dome. My problem is that I do not have a controller to even turn the dome on and set it into the search mode. I know the original owner of the motorhome who had the dome installed and he is sure the controller was in the coach when he traded it in but somehow it went missing while on the dealers lot and of course they don't have any idea as to what might have happened to it.
I'm just hoping that somebody might have a controller in their junk box that may want to pick up a few bucks on it. I really want to use a friends receiver (Direct) to at least make sure it is working before getting to deep into satellite TV and spending a bunch of money on it.
Would appreciate any and all ideas, assistance, etc.
Thanks,
Capt Joe

PS I have checked with the techs at both RV dealers in town and neither of them has one laying around.

Try contacting King Dome. Each time I have called them they have been most helpful.

Controller?? What does it look like?

Mine is a small box attached to the wall in a cabinet above the TV. Is has a switch that flips two ways - one turns it on and if you hold it down the dome goes into a search mode. Pressing it the other way turns it off.
Other side has switch to change search for different satellites. Lights can be red, orange and green and flash.

Yep, that's what he's talking about. It's a $50 part and King Dome can sell and send him one with just a phone call.

Thanks for the reply. I have talked with King Controls (took me 3 calls over about 10 days to get a return call from them) and the 1824 controller, in either wall mount or hand models, is $99 plus shipping.
At this point, my main interest is to see if the dome even works before I start putting money into it. It hasn't been used in at least 2 years and if it doesn't operate, I probably won't want to spend very much on an older satellite dome to get it to work as we seem to do fine with over the air programming for the most part and we currently have cable at home.
Thanks again for the input. For reference, the controller looks like this (the hand held one is on the left) :

The ones you have pictured are the multi-satellite units. They also have a less expensive unit take looks like the unit on the left except that it only have one toggle switch and simply turns the unit on and off and will take the KD to 101 for DTV or 110 for Dish Net. depending upon which service the KD was programmed for. You need to know what service the previous owner used as that's what the KD is currently programmed for.

Hi Bill,
Thank you for the added input.
When I talked with the KD tech support and gave them my model number and serial number, he said the model 1824 controller was the proper one. My Installation and Operating Instructions booklet I have for the 9702/9702-LP domes does have a picture of the controllers on the front cover and it does look differently than the ones in the picture I posted. The hand-held one on the cover does show only one weitch that is lables On/Search and Off with two indicator lights labeled as Power and Status. I'm just wondering if they have done away with this single switch model and the model 1824 controller (photo taken from the KD web site) is the proper one now?
Any ideas?
I will try to call KD next week to double check but if it takes a long to get with them as it did last time, it will be a week or 10 days to get to talk with a tech.

We have not sold KD for a very long time so I can't tell you if they have discontinued the one-button controller but I would be surprised if they have.
While you likely don't "need" the 2-button controller it's only a few bucks more than the 1-button and if you can't find a dealer with one laying around (and we all had lots of them) then I would go ahead and get the 2-button version.
