Correct inverter

Recently purchased a 2000 Country Coach. 3 years ago, the owner at that time, replaced the refrigerator with a 9 cubic foot Frigidaire 110 volt model. The coach has a Heart Freedom 20 2000 watt modified sine wave inverter. Can anyone tell me if it would be safe to run the refrigerator off of that inverter.
Thank you, Marty

You'll need the fridge's owners manual to tell you ; or give you warnings about ; using the fridge on an inverter.

JMHO: I believe the newer fridges say to use a pure sine wave inverter.

2000 coach wiring may not have supplied 120 volt power to the fridge from the inverter.

The compressor motor will run a bit hotter with msw, but it's the electronics that may or may not have a problem. If it's been working for 3 yrs, I suspect that it'll work fine for a long more. The manual and specs for that fridge probably won't have any info on pure vs msw power. If you contact the factory, you might get an answer, but they may not know either since 99+% run on regular sine wave power.

Thank you all for the replies. It is hard to get a good answer from anyone. The manufacturer of the refer says maybe and so does the manufacturer of the inverter. My last motorhome had pure sine wave inverter in it and my Samsung ran fine. This one has a modified sine wave inverter and I just would like to know if anyone has used a "modified sine wave inverter" to run a residential (small) refrigerator before I plug this one into one.
Thank you, Marty

I ran my Samsung for 3 years on the OEM MS inverter until recently. I also ran a Haier 12 bottle wine fridge off of an inexpensive MS inverter for a couple years in my previous rig.

When I first started my class C conversion I was going to use a Modified S on a Haier mid size frig. Then I was standing in the right place, facing the wind and I found a U-Line under counter and all plans changed mainly because the U-line had digital controls and read out inside the door which made me think about being safe with the electrics( with LP tankless WH controls also) and I changed over to a 2K Pure SW.
When I was planning on using the Haier with a MS I did call the manufacture and asked the question to their tech support and they said it would work fine.
Op with yours... I don't like using these words " if its not broke....." still can't say it

agree with scotty, many years without problems on residential. Samsung, Whirlpool, haier, and including fisher paykel refrigerators. many of our Alfa chapter members have made the switch to residential since 2012. Using the Xantrex GS series 2012 MSW.

Although I, too, ran my Samsung RF197 off of an MSW inverter for several years without a problem, I can also say that it is incorrect to assume that just because someone else operated a Brand X refrigerator on an MSW inverter that anyone else can operate a Brand Y unit on an MSW.

Recently, there was a lengthy thread in another RV forum discussing this matter in depth. The key point is that Samsung (and some others) use "non-traditional" electrical circuits that involve things such as rectification of incoming AC power into DC sometimes coupled with the use of multi-speed DC motors. With such arrangements, the incoming power "type" is irrelevant because inside the appliance box it all has been converted to DC.

However, with a "traditional" compressor driven by an AC motor the situation can be different, furthermore, if the control system is powered by AC there's no way to predict how it will react with MSW power.

IMHO the smartest move is to switch to a PSW inverter because it resolves all problems and you will probably find other devices that "run better" with it compared to how they worked on the MSW.
