I have the Cradlepoint 350. Had to contact them twice regarding some settings. I used the chat line function. Had to wait about 15 minutes each time. It worked out very well and the techs seemed knowlegable and cured the problems. At one point on the second call the tech did a remote access on my computer and rejigged the settings. It's been working great ever since. Give that a try

beaverjim,
Talk to Alex at the www.3gstore.com. Very competent on the Cradlepoint products and will help you even if you did not buy from them. I have the 350 also and whenever (not often) I have had a problem I always got an answer from them.
Good Luck!

if you are already able to tether either phone via USB to a computer and surf the web, i'd suggest just trying to tether it to the CTR500... it will probably just work.
if neither phone is on their list, cradlepoint tech support is not likely to offer any assistance making your phones work.

after talking to the 3gstore i've decided to purchase a verizon 760 aircard. sound like the simple solution since i was told the neither of our phones are listed. they also stated that the 760 is a great match for the cradlepoint. another good thing is since alltel is now verizon we will be able to turn the air card on and off as needed. thats my story unless somebody has a better idea. thanks! jim

One thing I will tell you about cradlepoint routers
(NOTE: This applies to several other brands as well)
Now cradlepoint routers each have a nearly unique log-in password as they come out of the box (If I should, for example, wish to log into your router and make a few changes to your setup)
I know what it is.
Change it.
Most makes have the same "Default" password for all routers. At least Cradlepoint is unique or nearly so, and thus the password for your router won't work on anothers.
But I still know the default password, both yours, his, and the other guys. Or,, I should say, I'd know if I was in range of the router

Each Cradlepoint has a unique log-in UNLIKE all the other routers. Other routers all use Admin or something similar to access their routers as the come out of the box. The Cradlepoint routers use the last 6 digits of the MAC address as the password.. As an example, if you get a CTR-350 the SSID might be CTR-76a (others would be Linksys, Belkin or Default, etc.). In this example the 76a numbers are the last 3 digits of the MAC address but you would need the 3 numbers (and or letters) before this to log into the Cradlepoint. Yes, if you are lucky and the 3 digits prior to this are all numbers you could log into the router with one of the 1000 combinations of 3 digits but you are going to have to try everything from 00076a to 99976a to find the right one.
So, while you say you know the default password to a Cradlepoint I would suggest that you might be able to figure it out but it's unlikely that anyone would want to.
Now, should you change this default password anyway? You bet!

You don't have to guess. All you need to do is run Netstumbler and it gives you the complete Mac address for any WIFI it picks up. The default admin password for Cradlepoint is the last six numbers of the Mac address. I don't think hacking into your router does anyone any good other than maybe messing with your settings.

So, I quickly ran NS to prove that this guy had no idea what he was talking about. How/why would any program designed to prevent other users from logging in allow this information to be broadcast with something as simple as NetStumbler? Well, we learn something new everyday. The Cradlepoint is no more secure out of the box than any of the "big boys" routers with a default password.
Thanks for that information. I have never recommended that anyone use this system as any kind of security level, but I did believe that there was at least a bit of security provided by this login. NOT!
