DBS-3000 Mobile Satellite Television System Issues

Just purchased a 2003 Holiday Rambler Imperial 40PST with only 33,000 miles. New to RV. Slowly figuring out how to do and use everything. It has a DBS-3000 Mobile Satellite Television System. I’m having trouble getting the antenna to raise up. It is supposed to be automatic. Any help would be grately appreciated. It is Direct TV and I have DTV at home. I’m told that since the card is in the unit, that I can have it activated, but can’t get the dish to raise.

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!

Congrats on the new rig! Sorry I can't help with the dish problem. Keep her between the ditches!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

With the year of your coach, I suspected the technology might be outdated due to changes Dish made a few years ago. A quick search found the attached 2007 note on the DBS-3000 that it is no longer reliable, along with a number of posts from 8-9 years ago from people having problems with the same system. Your best bet would be to invest in a new technology system like the Trav'ler or an automatic dome. I had the same situation with our '06 Itasca that came with a Winegard 2000 that was already outdated in 2009. I changed it out for a Pathway X1.
