Direct TV antenna question
Just bought a new Winnebago Tour. It came with a Direct TV antenna. Can I use this antenna with a Dish receiver?

What's the manufacturer and model? It might be possible to reprogram or convert it to work with Dish.

Traveler from Winegard can be converted to Dish. But not the other way around.
Dome antennae... maybe.

I agree with FlyingDiver.
(For the correct answer to your question contact the antenna manufacturer and ask).

The answer is no, but without a lot of details, no one can give you any additional advise. There are hundreds of different satellite TV antennas. Chuck

As you say it's new if you don't like DIRECTV take the RV back to the dealer and have them swap it out for a dish unit then you can have pay as you go

If you have the Winegard in motion satellite dish, there are dip switches on the antenna you can change to receive Dish network or Bell TV signals. Just check the Winegard site for the proper switch settings. To change them, you have to remove the dome. It is held on with a few phillips head bolts. You won't have to disturb any of the sealant that keeps rain water out of the coach to do that.

The satellite dishes most MH's come with are domes because they are relatively inexpensive. I've never seen a dome that didn't have switches that could be set to allow it to change from DirecTV to Dish and back again.
I assume you realize that domes can only receive one channel at a time (unless both happen to be on the same satellite) which makes them pretty useless if you have any interest in having a DVR and like to record multiple channels at the same time or watch one and record another.

I have a King Quest, for DirecTV only.
There are no switch's in it, to change service.
They do offer this,
Accessory available to easily change satellite TV services; between DIRECTV,*DISH®*and Bell™*(KING Quest Universal Controller, Model*#UC1000, sold separately)

It is not a dome. It is the big dish antenna. It says Direct TV right on it. We had a Wineguard in motion dome on the Tour we traded in for this one. I guess we will be subscribing to Direct TV. We can buy a lot of service for the price of a new antenna to run dish.
Thanks for the advise.

It's about $300 to convert it.
