I have 2 Direct TV receivers getting feed from a King Dome in my coach, one for the front TV and one for the bedroom TV. I receive more channels in the rear TV than the front, also I'm able to receive local channels further away from home on the rear TV. The picture quality is excellent on both TVs. I've tried switching receivers and that doesn't help, I've also switched the King Dome input cables and that doesn't help either. At various times during the day, more channels appear on the front TV, then go away. Anybody have any ideas what's going on ?

Are you running the feeds thru a splitter? Or is it a separate feed from the dome to each receiver?? I suspect that you are getting the feed from 101 on only one receiver and one of the other birds on the other receiver.

It could be an LNB going bad. When it's bad check the signal strength menus and see if the both show the same as well as the same number or transponders with signals.

Sounds like the front receiver has gone bad. If switching cables didn't change anything.
DirecTV replaced one for me that did that. Receiver may not be able to change voltage to the dish to change from odd to even transponders.

The test channels for the 101 below those will tell you OK or not.
9501 for odd 101
9502 for even 101

Another posibility is the reciever messed up and lost information. It has happened to me, a call to Directv and they resent the info to the reciever and all fixed.

My 9704lp instructions state that the main line from the dome be connected to a primary receiver. Secondary receiver is connected to the aux.

Furthermore only the main receiver should be allowed to do the switching. The second should be set to not switch such as selecting the oval antennal for the aux receiver.

If both are set to sat switching there may be a problem. ie fighting each other.

Just repeating what is in my manual. Check your manual, it may be different than mine.

That does not apply to DirecTV as all of their SD programming comes from only one satellite. Both receivers will always be pointing to the correct satellite.
