Direct TV nightmare
We have an older Motosat and Direct TV....everytime we move the motor home we have to be on the phone with Direct TV for 30 minutes to get them to reactivate our receivers. we are supposed to have a "RV Plan" and be able to turn the service off when the motor home is parked in its barn. We are at our wits ends can anyone help up with the Direct TV in an RV issue???? we are paying $58.00/month for a service that only gets used 30-45 days per month. I know that someone can help us with this we are so totally frustrated with the entire TV issue we are considering using nothing but the old crank up antenna....Please help...

I have to reset mine if it has been off for about a month.
Which at that time I make a call, tell the computer operator the error number on my screen and it gets reset automatically. Only takes about 10 minutes or less.

When our RV sits idle for more than 30 days I simply call the DIrect TV help line. Most of it is automated and we're generally up and running within 5 minutes.
This only happens if we don't use the system in 30 days.

Our DirecTV experience is just as the two previous posters said. Not really a big problem.

You can also refresh your receiver on the DirecTV WEB site.

You don't have to call anymore. You can do it on line.

You can also put your system on hold (my term, not theirs) for up to six months at a time. I have done this a couple of times.

How do you use your rig for 45 days per month?
I had to reactivate mine last Saturday. I have Direct on my phone and it took less than 3 minutes to get it working.
