Direct TV Receiver "card" ?

My question is;
Can I take the card out of my HOME Direct TV receiver, model HR24-200, and plug it into another of the same model in my coach ??????

If this is possible, I would buy another receiver of the same model #. and do a permanent install in the coach, rather than transferring the home unit to the coach, each time we travel.

OR are the cards specific to the receiver. I would not think so, but I'm not sure.

Looking for advise from someone who has travelled this path before.

Thanks in advance,

Mike in Colorado

They are coded to work with the original receiver when activated. You can get another card from Direct for your mobile receiver.

So, I guess I will have to lug the "home" receiver and it's card out to the coach and wire it up, and change all the antenna settings each time we take a trip. Then reverse the procedure when we get home.

BUMMER !!!!!!!!
But doable..............

The monthly fee for the additional receiver is not that much. The box needs to be turned on every so often to refresh the feed, otherwise it goes into the error code and you have to call Direct to reset it. That's a pain.

20 years ago we could do this, now the card is linked to the receiver. Not sure why Direct TV thought that was a problem, still no more than one receiver at a time would work with that card.

You can Refresh the reciever with their App or online. Calling them works but is a waste of time.
I have two recievers ( Summer and Winter ) and refresh each one after switching from land or sea.
