Direct TV to Dish

I have a 2013 Tiffin 35 QBA with a Winegard Road Trip mission dome antenna. We got rid of Direct TV for the SB. The friend that we travel with has Dish and said he would bring one of his receivers. I understand that there is a switch on the dome that needs to be switched from Direct TV to Dish. Is that correct?

What model Dish receiver is most compatible with the Road Trip? HD and recording are not that important. The Direct TV receiver had to have the 5 colored RGA outputs to plug into the system that Tiffin used on the QBA.

Any advice or help would be appreciated.

I have read that the Roadtrip can be switched between DirecTV and Dish with an internal adjustment (dip switch)...but don't know the particulars.

The Roadtrip is compatible with all Dish receivers except Hopper/Joey:

Best luck

I did see that chart after I made my post. It looks like the 211z and the Wally don't have the proper connections on the back for the Tiffin connections. Thanks for your help.

OK, so the question is now...how do I connect a SAT Receiver to the 5 wire (Component video + Audio) feed into the Tiffin...
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Component_video

Component AV was the predecessor to HDMI...but not totally equal.

The simplist way to do this is to acquire a Dish ViP-211k (only the "K", not the "Z" or "W"ally) which has the Component (5 wire) Output. The 211k is still sold but is not current model line-up. We have the 211k and it works perfectly.

Or...You can connect any receiver using the receiver's "Composite AV" (3 wire) output with an adapter like:
https://www.amazon.com/Component-Com.../dp/B003FJKHBU

Or...convert the SAT HDMI output to Component AV with an adapter like:
https://www.amazon.com/Portta-PETRHP.../dp/B003VJ9RP6

I believe that most new SAT receivers have moved away from the old 5 wire output in favor of the HDMI port.

Best luck

Thank you for the reply. It is exactly the info I was looking for. I think I am going to remove the front TV so I gain gain better access to the entire entertainment wiring "mess" and see if I can convert the satellite hook up to HDMI. I think my friend has a Hopper and 211z so hopefully changing the wiring will enable us to use the 211z.
