So, I have a couple apps on my cell phone that show the location of the sats. You point your phone to the area and it finds them (101,103, 99, etc).
And at one site we visit I know where to point off a fixed object for rough setting and tweak it from there.
I do not want to install anything else on the roof, so I will stick with this.

I believe SWM stands for single wire multiplex.

First, I make sure my tripod mast is level/plumb. I get the elevation and azimuth settings for our location, set the elevation before putting the dish on the mast, then use a compass to set the approximate azimuth. We turn on the TV and go to the signal strength screen, then I adjust the azimuth while my DW watches the signal strength. We use our phones to communicate. One thing I have found that has helped is to set the elevation slightly higher than the angle called for.
Much easier and less frustrating when I can just turn the Trav'ler on and let it do its thing!

I agree. The critical part is getting the mast level. When I first started, I would just eyeball it and then it would take forever to lock in. Once I started using the level (that came with the kit lol) to level the last first it was pretty easy. Also, setting the elevation a little high is a good tip that helps as well.
I finally got pretty good at it, then installed a Travel'r. Now it's real easy!

Mike, we upgraded to HD at home and took one of the old receivers to use in the MH, which is not equipped for HD.
