I am attempting to install the direct TV receiver that we use in our house in the MH. I have a 2008 Gulfstream 40A Tourmaster. It has 4 TV’s connected thru a AV5200HD Audio/Video box. The front TV is at the #4 position and the bedroom is # 2. The only location the Direct TV receiver will fit is in the bedroom. That TV is connected to a wall box with the three wire RCA type plugs Red, white, yellow. It also has an Antenna coax connected to a wall plate with two connection points and it is connected to the top point. The receiver has used the HDMI cable when in the house and the MH TV’s do not have this option.
The Satellite antenna is a KVH 4. All of its controls and connection pads are above the driver’s seat well away from the bedroom TV.
The KVH has never been used. I believe there is some set up needed. I am totally lost.
Any step by step help out there?

When we travel we take one reciever for each set. I found out that the standard reciever will not carry both front and rear, I havent tried the DVR yet. I also have to set up two sat. dishes,

We have an old KVH LM dome. Domes will only receive SD signals.
Our dome will allow two coax runs from the roof but for now I only use one.
Our receiver is not a DVR.
I installed the receiver in a cabinet adjacent to the AV switch box that was provided.
I can only select TV1 or TV2. The basement TV and bedroom TV get the same signal selection on TV2.
The coax from the roof leads to the Sat Receiver.
The coax from the Sat receiver goes to Sat In on the winnegard switch box.
You can make many variations from this basic setup depending on type of connections you want to make (SVideo, Component, Composite) etc.
In my case, I have installed a A/B switch on the coax run from the outside rear campground connection. A leads to another A/B switch which selects either roof or rear Sat Antenna and then completes the coax run to the Sat Receiver.
B continues to the Winnegard box as was originally wired for campground cable connection.
If you mount your Sat Receiver in the bedroom, it would seem that you need to run Coax to connect the Sat Receiver to the Dome and then Coax to connect the Sat Receiver to the switch box that the current RWY cable comes from for the rear TV distribution.

You will not be able to get HD from Directv thru the Dome on your RV. Signals from multiple sattilites are required for HD, and the Dome is not equipped to accomodate this. Simple solution would be to purchase or rent from Directv the reciever or recievers. If you want to watch different programs on the front and bedroom TV's at the same time, you will need two recievers. You can watch same programming on each of the TV's with only one receiver box.

Aside from the problem of the dome not being capable of receiving the HD signals you'll have problems with the bedroom location for the receiver as well. You need access to the cable coming from the dome and if the signal distribution box is up by the front TV then most likely that is where the cable from the dome is located also.
