From the data usage record kept by my WiFiRanger, it appears that our streaming consumes roughly ~1GB/hour but that does seem to vary depending on the speeds the cellular systems provide to us. We typically use 100-200 GB/mo. We have a Verizon unlimited prepaid hotspot plan and an AT&T unlimited plan through OTRMobile.

I will send you a message tomorrow after I check with the boss (she's already asleep) and get our schedule for this week. I am sure that we can find a time to get together. Thank you again for the great information!
Great. Bayside is the first park on the left as you come into town. We're usually out pulling shrimp pots until about 11:00AM or so, but after that we're usually free.

Thank you, docj. Wow! That is a lot of data. We have a grandfathered Verizon unlimited plan that is out of contract and an AT&T unlimited plan on a Mobley. I try to keep the Verizon below 50 GB/month to avoid Verizon cancelling me. Thanks again!

This town is directly across the Gasteneau Channel from Juneau and the fjord toward the south directly aligned with the Directv satellites. You have two things preventing reception. First it the ever present mountains and the second issue is the fact that a Trav'ler will only tune down to 18 degrees above the horizon. Since we spend a lot of time in Valdez, we found a Trav'er would not tune low enough for that location, however, I found that by placing a nickel in the pinch point of the LNB arm and doing a manual tune, I could get Direct reception there. 2 years ago I dumped the Trav'ler and got a RF Mogul antenna. This unit tunes down to zero degrees above the horizon. We're presently sitting in an RV Park in Valdez and have been receiving our full Directv programming. This was also true last year. We have also gotten Directv reception in Homer while camped on the Homer Spit. To find out if the mountains would even allow a tune, I programmed the satellite positions into a handheld GPS and then used it to check line of sight for any mountains in the area. PS:...Since you're in Valdez, we're in Bayside spot 49 if you want to talk.
Good morning Pigman1. We are downtown to do a hike and wander around this morning. Is today a good time to chat? We can stop by your rig/site on our way back to the KOA. We'll also be back in town tomorrow to tour museums if that works better. Thanks again for the offer!

Sorry Pigman1, missed this until now. Will stop by your site after we leave downtown today. Thanks again!
