I've always been able to hit a 95+ signal with my system. After it blew over the other day all I could get was a 65. I attributed it to heavy clouds and the storms in Indiana. Now I'm in St. Paul, MN, it's cloudy, and all I can get is 66. I've always used sat 101 for all setups. I tweaked it every which way (except for tilt), rechecked the level, and 66-67 is all I can get. Could something have been knocked out of wack when it blew over? If so how do I "unwack" it?

My tripod is a heavy duty tv4rv.com unit, dish is a Slimline 3lnbSWM. My receivers are HR23-700's (have 2 of them).

It's possible the arm is bent, and now the LNBs are no longer the proper distance from the dish. Even if you have the dish aimed properly, the LNBs are not at the focal point of the dish. A dent in the dish could also throw things off, but a dent would be more obvious.

Also, make sure the cable didn't come loose from the LNB and that the fitting is still tightly crimped to the cable.

Another possibility is the LNB itself is damaged.

More than likely the LNB horn was bent all wonky when it crashed. You can try to bent it a little and see if you can get it back into alignment or just replace the dish and arm.

Pretty sure you prroblem lays with the LNB being knocked slightly off target. Push the LNB around a little and see it doesn't improve your signal strength. They can be repositioned fairly easy. I know several guys who drilled the rivets out and use bolts and nuts so they can pack them easier.

Reset everything, still @ 66-69%. At that point I started twisting and pulling and bending on the LNB arm, while DW watched the onscreen signal strength. Never got any better. We still get a great picture, with just occasional "pixeling" out. Guess I may need to search Craigslist for a new satellite. Or maybe call Directv and see if they can send out a tech.

Thanks for the suggestions and help.

What is your signal strength on 97 &103 ?
I am 600 mi north west of you and right now my signal on 101 is between 83 & 97 on the different transponders
Perhaps your SL3 LNB got damaged??
Is there anyone around that you could trade parts with to be sure what got damaged?

I has the same problem, but a different issue. WE got caught is a storm with strong winds. I didn't have the tripod anchored well enough. The wind blew it over. I coudn't get a strong signal anymore, but I did get is in the 80's. In my case the dish itself got bent which gives the same indication. Maybe that your signal strength are lower that I was able to get indicates the LNB arm being bent rather than the dish itself.

I called DirecTV and they sent a tech out. He replaced the entire dish. Yes this was in my RV and was covered under my maintenance part of the service.

Just something to keep in mind.
