Dish and digital convertor connections
How do you connect up the convertor (to convert from digital to analog for older TV's? do you connect the satellite cable into the in on convertor then connect tv to the out on the convertor and set the tv on channel 3?
Thanks

You will probably need to get an RF modulator to connect the RCA cables out of the back of the converter box into the tv if the tv does not have RCA cable inputs. I have Directv and my converter box does not have an rf out connector so I use an RF modulator to convert the RCA connectors out of the converter into an RF connector to screw the cable in to the tv. This is what I use:
Dynex RF Modulator DX-AD116 - Best Buy

Your satellite does not connect to the convertor - it is only for over the air TV signals. TV antenna -> Convertor box -> TV set. Your satellite signals go through the sat receiver and then via HDMI, Component, or Composite to your TV set.

If hes talking analog TV, then HDMI and likely Component won't be available anyway.
The converter has an Antenna IN, obviously thatswhere the antenna goes. It also has a TV, or OUT 'F' connector that goes to the Antenna input of the TV. Some have analog A/V outputs as well, but are not necessarily needed.

The tv is a 2004, the orginial dish receiver, now gone with past owner was installed mid coach in entertainment center. Do I just put a coupler to connect the coax? How do I get OTA if I wanted to, through the dis ant?

Need to know if you have Dish or DirecTV as well as the type of the dish itself and the converter box.
