Dish HD Channel Problem

I have a Dish 211K sat receiver paired with a KVH stationary antenna. The receiver started doing something last year that is driving me crazy. More times than not, when tuning to an HD channel, the tuner will display the message, “HD channel unavailable, tuning to SD equivalent.” If I punch in the HD channel number again, I may get the correct HD channel, but sometimes I get the same screen message. Thinking it was an antenna issue, I called KVH tech support. They said it is a receiver issue. I called Dish tech support (in Asia), and they of course told me it is an antenna issue!

Has anybody else experienced this?

Craig

I had the same problem at home, DISH replaced the 211 receiver and all is well, at least for now.

Ok thanks. I own mine, but CW has the updated 211z receiver on sale right now so I'll head down there and pick one up.

Craig, be sure your TV has an HDMI input.

It does, my current 211k is connected via HDMI. Thanks Fred.
