I purchased a 2007 Phaeton with a Wineguard in motion dome. I also have an old Dish 921 DVR I purchased several years ago. Does anyone know if I purchased the Dish pay as you go service would that combination work ? Does anybody have any suggestions on how to use the current wineguard dome? Am I correct that I've read Dish is the only service that I would be able to get HD on the dome and SD with DirecTv service? I currently have DirecTv HD service at home (northern New York State) and my RV is in South Carolina and is going to be heading south to Florida. I'm new to this environment so any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

OK, here we go,
1. The 921 DVR will not work for Dish HD because it's not programmed to receive the 129 sat that contains most of Dish's HD channels.
2. The pay as you go is nothing more than a billing option it has nothing to do with programming.
3. The Winegard Sat Dome will have to have the dip switches reset for Dish Network if it was set for DirecTV.
4. Yes, only Dish Network HD is receivable by a dome type antenna at present.
I would recommend you purchase a Dish VIP211K receiver for use with the pay as you go option. You can add an external hard drive for a $40 programming fee and then have a dvr setup.

Thanks lllkrob, sorry but what are dip switches? what does it involve resetting them? Do you think camping world can reset them? Then it sounds like buying a Dish VIP211K and Dish programing (pay as you go) from maybe camping world and adding the external hard drive later would get me going.

Dip switches on a Winegard dome are located up under the dome cover. Winegard domes are normally set up for DirecTV by default but your's may already be changed to the Dish Network settings.
Camping World "SHOULD" be familiar with resetting the switches and would be a good one-stop shop for getting the receiver ($149) and Dish service.

I got tired of fighting. purchased one of the New Dish tailgater antennas. Love it. mounted it on my rear ladder. when you arrive at a location, simply turn on the TV. Program asks you what state you are in, pick it, click and within 10 minutes you go picture. EASY..... and HD.....
good luck ed
