Dish hopper and joey ? Unplug both ?

Hi , I had my first trip with the dish hopper and joey with stationary traveler antenna ...Excellent dvr and I recorded movies via satellite and streamed Netflix . The experts advice is that The hopper should be unplugged during traveling to prevent damage to it because of spinning Hd. My question is : should the joey be unplugged also or does it “Park “ in standby ? Thanks Dean

If you aren't running an inverter while going down the road would the hopper have power anyway?

The Joey is simply a dumb hox. There is nothing in there that could be damaged except a simple circuit board. If your running the generator, I would disconnect all electronics. Generators can at times supply dirty power that the AC may not notice.

I would power down the Hopper due to the internal hard drive. A Joey does not have a hard drive, so no power down.

My inverter runs 24/7, Since 2014, I have never removed power from my Hopper (1). I just upgraded my Hopper (1) to a (3), including the Winegard Traveler (Multi-Switch).
