Marketing ploy to negotiate a new contract. Both sat providers to this about once a year. They will be back in less than a week.

yeah, usually, the channels don't get taken down but rather get extended on a day by day basis... which lends some credence to Dish's claim that Turner is playing hardball.

Read the attached article. It says Turner pulled the plug on DISH Network on Sunday night.

Only thing I miss is CNN, the rest can call off the air waves for all I care.

Too bad they couldn't lose about 30 info-mercial channels, 9 or 10 religious channels and at least a couple of dozen shopping channels.

This is Charlie Ergen's standard bargaining tactic and it seems Dish temporarily loses channels more frequently than DirecTV.

He's also a professional gambler with a net worth of $17 Billion. He's good at what he does.
