I am thinking about switching for Direct TV to the Dish Network and was looking for someone who has the KVH R6 series in motion antennae and is using Dish Network HD. I was told that the R6 series can get Dish HD and want to confirm how well it works.

Well we switched to Dish and it worked well. We had to upgrade the software on the antenna to work with the dish 211 receiver to be able to switch between the satellites. When we change channels the receiver will tell the dish to switch to a new satellite if necessary. Bottom line is we now have HD channels with our inmotion salellite, something Direct TV could not do.

Hi John,
Congrats on your upgrade and change of providers. Your are a brave guy. How about being the iRV2 resident expert on this subject. Most of these upgrades do not go smoothly. Maybe your new title could be Doctor of Satelliteology? Of course it comes with all the rights and privileges all PHDs receive.

Want to report on our trip after switching to the Dish network. Everything worked well except my son could not watch hd channels while in motion. The system had trouble processing the hd signal in motion causing the screen to freeze. That's ok everything worked fine when we were set up at the campground.
