I'm new to RV satellite systems. I now have an RV with a King Dome. I have A Dish Network receiver model 625 duel satellite inputs for two independent tuners. OK, can anyone tell me if this will work with my King Dome system? Can anyone offer any advice on how to make it work or should I justy bite the bullet and get a different receiver. Thanks!

I looked up your receiver and it's similar the the 722 that we use. Ours did not work with the King Dome. We also have a 612 receiver (dual tuner, one output to TV, one tuner for DVR). It did work with the King Dome. The second tuner for the DVR was inactive, but the primary tuner worked normally.
The dual tuner/dual output receivers work best with an open face dish like the 1000, with three LNBs, or 500 with two LNBs. The problem is that domes have one LNB and Dish uses three satellites for full service. The dish will move from satellite to satellite depending on the channel selected. If there are two tuners, then they may need to look at different satellites.
You may be able to get your receiver to work with the dome by setting it to single mode instead of dual output mode.

The answer is it depends on WHICH King dome.. I will run down the consideratins.
Some domes can switch between the 2 or 3 satellites you need fast enough to keep ONE receiver happy, but the 625 is two receivers in one box..
Some domes can only run ONE receiver, Some can run TWO, **PROVIDED** Provided that they are both looking to the same satellite.
NOTE: If you can only see one bird, you want 119.
King Dome customer Service can tell you what the specs on your dome is, Or we can given the model and some other info... And a bit of Google time.

I also have a Dish Network Dual DVR 625 receiver for my travel trailer. My antenna unfortunately, is a VuQube 1000, which has only one LNB. I have been considering buying the VuQube 2000, which is a dual LNB model, but after reading your posts, I'm unsure what kind of antenna to use. I have a TV in the front room of the trailer & one in the bedroom, so obviously the idea is for me to be able to watch the Military channel while the wife watches her soap opera(s). Perhaps I need two antennas? Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Treeban.. IN your case insteaad of buying a VuQube 2000, get a 2nd 1000
With two independent "Dome" type antennas (Which the VuCube is) the 625 or 722 will be 100% happy (provided the VuCube can change direction under receiver control) no conflicts where one receiver wants 110 and the other 119 or 127.. It will very simply work.
That is the solution to the two receiver issue.
Of course a Dish 500 or 1000 antenna solves this too but in your case a 2nd VuCube 1000 will work I am going to download the VQ-1000 manual and check a few things.
(Actually downloading as I type)
The manual says it can store 2 satellite positions but it does not say if the Receiver can choose between them.. Only the remote.
So, if your current 1000 is able to switch between 110 and 119 under the control of the 722.. Then I'd go with a 2nd 1000 for the other input, they will work independently of each other.

King Domes have a single LNB. They recommend single tuner receivers for that reason. A 625 is a dual tuner receiver. It can try to view two satellites at the same time. The antenna cannot do that.

Thank you all for your information. I came to the conclusion yesterday that a 2nd VuQube 1000 is probably the best solution - ease of setting up & use is the primary consideration, I just need to decide if I want to spend $$$ for another one & haul two of them around. I guess if watching a separate TV channel from the Mrs. is so darned important then I will spend the money. Actually, the primary reason for upgrading to a DVR receiver is so she can record her programs while we are out "seeing the sights," which is what camping is all about. Anyway, the information you all provided is valuable to me & others. Thanks again.

I have a dish system in the MH and in the house. I was using a tripod set up for the rv with 2 lmb (those round things) and the dish I have on the MH has one. Can I take the two from my old setup and replace the single one and pick up both sat? I hope I have explained it enough, remember I'm old

We are using a Dish 311 receiver with a King Dome mounted on the RV roof. Works great. Did have to have the King Dome "programed" to work with the Dish receiver. The King Dome does a auto switch between the 110/119 as it only has 1 LNB. When I can switch out my analog TV to a new flat screen I am going to look at a Dish ViP 211k or the Solo DVR ViP 611, both should work O.K. the King Dome.
