I agree pay as you go is not working properly as they keep billing and then drop you after a few months so they haven t figured out their own program. They told me just to ignore the bills they were sending ?? Dumb
As far as local channels I NEVER talk to anyone. I go into my account online with my phone and go to the "CHAT" function technical part. I have a script I stick in with my account number name and request my Service address change I learned this here on this forum !
( my script )

Hello , Dish Network ,
I have changed locations. The satellite dish and receiver have been set up and are working.
So that I can receive the local channels in our new location. Please change my SERVICE address to

"Type in actual or Any address in the service area you want"

Please be sure to delete the old local channel location.
NOTE !
My billing address does not change.
I am in a RV

Thank you!
My name
Acct #

I have Never not had this work in minutes !!!! .... I do check my account shortly after as they do change both service and billing addresses sometimes , even with my clear instructions but you can change your billing address back easily yourself ( which I do if the did it wrong )
Proper wording is important as you need to be clear you are in a Rv and you are changing your SERVICE address .. Anything else confuses them

Dish network problems!!!

I have had pay as you go for over 2 years. At first no one at the 800 numbers understood what I was talking about no matter how many times I told them I was in a RV, it would take multiple calls and long waits. This winter while we were in Florida we moved several times, I noticed the representatives are now better trained and actually seem to understand that your billing address can be different from your service address. My calls to them were down in the minutes range.

As far as billing, yes we are bad credit risks, we move. What I find is when I pause my account I get a credit which they eat away at $5 per month. When I reactivate the service I prepay for the month plus the time to get it to their billing cycle, after that we are all set.

I always say, tell me the rules of the game and I can play. I think Dish has heard the screaming and improved their pay as you go service to the point that I can play the game.

I like the script BilJinOR uses, I will have to try it.

Unless you are using a receiver from your S&B don't pause your account, this Is for vacation homes and triggers the $5/month charge. Disconnect your service. When they try to get you to pause tell them is a Pay as you go account for an RV. Sometimes you need to ask for a supervisor and then they give you different number to call, which will connect you to someone who knows what a RV is. This number is changed frequently. There will not be a $5/mo pause charge.
