I have not activated the Dish service yet, does that make a difference????
That is odd. To confirm your set-up...the coax from the batwing is split before any connection...the splitter does not have a signal amp...then one leg goes to the ANT-In on the VCC and the other leg goes to the ANT-In on the ViP-211(?).

Did you swap the 2 splitter outputs to see if there was any change in symptoms?

FYI, the SAT-In jack on the back of the ViP-211 has power to run a Tailgater dish, so if that connection is wrong, could be causing the power issue on the VCC.

Having your Dish service activated, "should" not have any impact on the flow of the OTA signal, except that you will not be able to test the OTA signal flow though the SAT receiver.

If your set-up is right and does not correct the issue when swapping spitter output, then I am stumped. There should be no power on the up-stream side of the batwing signal flow, so there should be no issue for splitting the OTA signal to the VCC.

Hope that helps.

Scarab0088......Traveling today but will give it another shot tomorrow. I think that you may found the answer that the SAT in and VCC are both powered.
