Dish program guide

Finally got tired of reading incomplete movie descriptions and gave up trying different buttons to see the rest. Here is a sample:
"Revival of Gilbert and Sullivan's swashbuckling operetta about a young pirate eager to leave behind his criminal life to be with an innocent woman,..."
OK what comes after ...
Did fifteen minute chat with dish. End result - known issue and they are working on it. I can't even remember the last time I was able to see the whole description. Guess "working on it" was polite way of getting rid of me. Really getting tired of starting a movie only to find out not what I expected. Sure would be nice to get my monies worth.

Isn't modern technology marvelous. We've become a little too dependent on it. It olden times you used to buy the TV Guide. It was all listed in there. Do they still publish that?

I love other similar arguments, like these:

- some churches do very well with their signs and 'wording' or 'statement' ... very catchy... but some should probably do away with their sign if they can't update it regularly.. such as when they post something that is going to be happening soon, but it's still posted 3 weeks after the event!

- some businesses use the 'electronic' billboard signs near their stores, but fail to realize that when you scroll wording so quickly, or conversely so slowly, no one will ever be able to actually read what you are meaning to say... so much for the 'better' signage...

- and some businesses make good use of their signs, except when they misspell something, and it continues to be posted for weeks...

- some of the TV news stations do a good job of using the 'scrolling message' at the bottom of the screen, and others - not so much. When it scrolls too slow, you wonder who is actually in charge and makes the decision about the 'speed' of the words... should you really be telling your viewing public that you think it takes them that long to read a single sentence?

- some TV channels also may have an issue with their 'graphics' ... we've all seen too many times where a station adds their own name or logo to an old syndicated show, and it just happens to be right on top of some other words or something important... so much for checking your graphic placements ahead of time!

by the way, I also 'love' the Dish programming show 'information'... it not only cuts off important information, but many times says the same thing TWICE before even trying.

oh, I also hate when a 'fill in the block' chat or online input area RESTRICTS you to only a few words or a sentence, though the 'block' is certainly large enough to write a book!
Makes you think they're going to give you plenty of an opportunity to respond, but you find that you can't really say anything close to what you'd like!

While you are looking at the short description, push the INFO button on your remote. It's on the Hopper and Wally remotes and probably all the others as well. You will get the complete description.

With our Hopper 2 it prompts you at that point to "page Down" to see the rest of the description. Simple Easy Peasy Cheesy no problem here.

So it is probably receiver related not Dish system. We have VIP211K receiver with Carryout G2 antenna and info button does nothing.
