I used the Dish VIP211K receiver. It is the recommended unit for RV use. One of its nice features is it has a USB port on the back that you can connect a hard drive to and it works as a DVR. Even better, is Dish just charges a one time connection fee (for all your 211 receivers) and you do not pay the monthly DVR fee. I bought a 750Gb hard drive on eBay and it holds literally thousands of hours of video. One small gotcha, the hard drive must have a separate power adapter. The 211 will not power it through the USB.

The VIP 211k is a single tuner receiver. So you can watch what is currently playing, or was recorded if you connect a usb drive and pay Dish's one time $40 fee. Now rather you can watch something you recorded earlier and record current programing at the same time will need to be answered by someone with more knowledge then me.
