We have the Dish TV 622 dvr. It seems I have different success in channel selection every time I stop. Is their a certain procedure to get all the channels?
Can someone tell me the procedure when I stop for the night.
Second. I left my TV2 controller in the rv during the winter. Even though the SAT button lights, it doesn't do a thing.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What kind of an antenna are you using to receive the Dish Network signal?

I use the Winegard Traveler. I get the display that indicates it has found the 3 satellites.

Since you have the Trav'ler you should be getting all channels available. If you look at the controller display that shows the 110, 119 and 129, you should also see a * before each number so the display looks like this: *110 *119 *129. If any of those *'s are missing the antenna was unable to locate that particular satellite. If all the stars are then then you should be getting all of your programming.
If you mean that some of the channels are not showing up in the guide, does your receiver menu have a setup for favorite channels or custom guides? If so then you may need to reset this so all of the channels available will show in the guide.

I get the correct display with * next to each satellite. But I still seem to miss some channels when I move from location to location.
What would be the standard install procedure for the dvr once I get all the satellites located.

There is no install procedure unless you are doing a new installation. Once you are setup and run the check switch routine once you won't have to do it again as long as you remain connected to that type antenna. I assume you know that you will likely not get your network programming (ABC, NBC, CBS, Fox) when you travel outside of your local home area.

We just arrived near Lansing and I did a reboot with the card out. I am now getting all my stations, except the local New York HD stations.
The second part of my problem still exists. Is there anyway to test the remote control for TV2?

It's not the stations, it's the remote. Doesn't function.

OK, glad to hear that you are getting all the necessary stations.
I can't figure out what you mean with your remote question so someone else will need to jump in here.

Hey Bill,
Being the knowledgeable guy that you are... he he
I was curious, is the 110 &119 satellites the Dish users use the same satellites that DirecTV use.
BTW, with the help you and others on this and other boards have given me, the issues I had in setting up my DirecTV receiver in the RV have been resolved.
It's amazing what a little basic knowledge will do for ya.
Now, I'm READY TO GO CAMPIN".

The Dish and DirecTV "main" satellites are different. DirecTV uses 101 and Dish Network uses 110 and 119 (as well as 72.5 and 77 on the East Coast).
In the past, DirecTV used 110 and 119 (leased space) for some of their HD and local network programming (some locals are still there) but they launched their own satellites which use the KA band and are located at 99 and 103. All of the standard definition programming comes from 101. It is likely that DirecTV will continue to use 110 and/or 119 for some time in the future but for most of us end users 101 is SD and 99 and 103 if you want HD.
