I am going to also install the checkswitch for satellite 110 as well because the local DFW channels come in on satellite 110 not 119 in the DFW area.

No the receiver settings will remain. The only thing that happens is the receiver is dropped off the DISH network after a period of inactivity and has to be re-authorized back on the network.

In your case I think it would be easier to get a dual LNB DISH 500 antenna on a tripod. Then you could watch any channel without having to move the antenna once sighted in.

Or you could buy a Tailgater and just hook it up, turn it on and let it find all 3 sats 110,119,129.

Yes, I bought the Tailgater, have it and am planning on taking it back un-opened (talk about temptation, I SO want to keep it!!) but I can't justify that for no more than when I am needing satellite service. Just satellite service and the receiver itself are already above and beyond my needs, but boy howdy do I WANT to keep and use that Tailgater!!!

Kent--didn't you get a pretty good deal on that Tailgater? Maybe you should allow yourself ONE indulgence. (Early Christmas gift from the fur babies or some such.)

Once you use it you will never, ever want to go through the frustration of dealing with a manual antenna setup, believe me I"ve been there and done that!!!

Don't want to hijack this thread but I am curious if you are running 1 or 2 satellite receivers in your Destination? I know they are wired for a second receiver in the BR but I can't find instructions on how to hook it up.

Hijack away! I think our Bounder is wired for a receiver in the bedroom too. We need to get it out of storage and have a look at our connections.

Hope Sarah doesn't mind.

I have the VIP-722 in the stick house. I pull it out and take it with me when we travel. It has as many miles as the Destination, 40,000+ and still counting. I have never had a problem with the DVR, other than the one time it overheated becausue I left the cabinet door closed.

With that said, I pulled the Winegard entertainment swtich out of it's cubbyhole and looked at the wiring. I needed distribution into the regular antenna, and to the back of the SAT, so i used a splitter for that capacity. Then, from the "distribution out" I ran it to the input for the SAT in the BR. Using only the one receiver I can watch the same channel on both TV's depending on the Winegard entertainment switch. Just make sure that any splitters that you put in line are designed for the application that you are trying to split.

I think I did a little rewiring of the wall plate in the compartment where the rf connections are. I'll take a look next time I get to the MH, but that will be awhile.

I believe that there is only one line from the entertainment center to the bed room so if you want to use a second receiver you would have to run a separate line up through the washing machine area and into the sat receiver. You could still use possibly use the line from the living area for OTA into the 2nd sat receiver if it has that capability, I'd have to check the wiring.

I just assumed that the receiver connection in the BR went directly to the TV. It may go back to the BOMB and back to the rear TV via one of the buttons. I will have to experiment. When my Travler was installed I was told they pulled in 2 lines to the entertainment center.

Sarah, should you need to control your 211k receiver from a location where you cant see it, ie, bedroom, outside the MH, anywhere, etc. you can use a device sold by Dish for about $30.00 that will do that. It's called a UHF to IR converter and comes with a UHF remote. UHF, unlike Regular IR remotes can transmit thru walls. The converter is a small box about 1" h x 4"w x 3" l, and plugs into an AC outlet. It has a little eye on it and can be placed anywhere it can see the 211k. Now the UHF remote that is provided, looks the same as your regular remote, can operate the 211k from anywhere, thru walls, whatever. It will also control your TV's on/off and volume. I have a couple of them for the bedroom tv's in the home and RV. Works great. Usually installers when on a call will just give them to you free if you say please. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the info, Pat! I'll keep this bookmarked in case our remote doesn't work as we'd like. I appreciate the tip!

Of course I don't mind; we can all use as much info as we can get!! Next I'll be whining about how to get our outside TV hooked up to satellite so I can annoy other campers.

Just a three way splitter that will handle the frequencies. Piece of cake, or maybe just a slice.
Actually for satellites they are called switches and separators.

So this splitter will allow us to redirect the signal to a different TV? Or to have the same program on 2 TVs?
