Sent my Droid X to Motorola for after warranty screen repair after dropping it. $122 and one week turn around. They instructed to remove battery and SIM. I didn't have a SIM, but removed the battery. Two days after I sent it I got a FedEx package with the SD card and the back cover, so I guess if you send it in, remove and keep them also. Very satisfied with the repair.

I took mine to a local shop. They fixed in an hour for $100.
