DTV National Feeds

Let's say I am Summering in NJ and receiving the East Coast national feed off 101 and I drive across country to Seattle and down to LA.

Will I need to change my service area to somewhere on the West Coast to be able to receive the major networks such as ABC and NBC?

I recieve the east coast feeds on my DirecTV and have been as far west as Branson Missouri.

I have a strong suspission that you will receive them but the time zone changes need to be figured in.

You got the East coast, National feeds from an antenna ?

Or, did you got them from the 101 satellite ?

OTA wasn't the question.

We NJ, metro NY, and western Ct, DirecTV customers get the NY National Networks ( DNS ) as our regular Networks ( ABC, CBS, NBC, & FOX ) included in our service.

If I watch weather in Fl., on one of the big 4 networks, its from NYC. I don't get " locals " with standard def. They are not on the 101 satellite.

I'd have to think its the same thing with LA, CA. customers.

Where are they getting them? My original question was:

"Let's say I am Summering in NJ and receiving the East Coast national feed off 101 and I drive across country to Seattle and down to LA.

Will I need to change my service area to somewhere on the West Coast to be able to receive the major networks such as ABC and NBC?"

If your getting them in NJ, you will get them in CA. Channels 390 and up.

Which satellite is it coming from?

Do you have a link to a coverage map by chance?

The 101 satellite serves the entire US from one coast to the other. We've watched our East Coast DNS feeds as far east and north as Prince Edward Island and as far west and north as Port Angeles WA and we watch it every winter in south TX.

Here's a link to a coverage map: http://www.marinesatellitesystems.co...hp?page_id=825

I was wondering about that. I just saw the "big 3" network channels, above 390, the other day. I will test it out, this summer, when we travel from Ca. to Mi. I won't be too disappointing, if they don't work, but it'll be cool if they do.

I have a somewhat related question. I received a communication from Direct TV today saying I could not use my mobile account receiver in my house. The rub seems to be the East Coast feed...that it breaks FCC rules and I must have 2 separate accounts with Direct. Thinking Dish is looking better and better. Anyone else having that problem?

I have had east and west coast feeds from directv for 20 years and now I move from my winter home in Palm springs ca to the Seattle area and they disconnect them and say I can't have them in this area. Anyone else having this issue???
