Dumping Comcast

Every month I cringe at opening the Comcast bill. Just got it today, went up $2.00 from last month, no explanation. We have Cable TV, Broadband and phone.

I want to cancel Comcast all together. Most important is Internet connection and then phone. We'll figure out TV later.

I've been all over RV Forums looking for the right answers. We want Internet connection on the road (not a moving connection) with phone and be able to use the same stuff at home.

I have learned about tethering phone to laptop. Do I have to use the wireless carriers data packet? TMobile has unlimited everything for $49/mo. You buy the phone/ no contract, but no data package. junefabric.com has a one time download for about $25. Does that allow internet connection using your phone tethered to your laptop?
