An inverter sufficient to run the loads from the TV and DVD. Plugs into a 12V DC cigarette lighter type receptacle and has two 110V AC outlets. Here is a 200 watt inverter: Amazon.com: Whistler Pro-200W 200 Watt Power Inverter: Patio, Lawn & Garden

How many amps is the fuse on your Cig lighter outlet... That'll determine how big of an inverter you can put up there.

You can still buy 12v TVs, but modern LED TVs don't pull that many amps... however, we need to know how much 12v power (amps) you've got up there..

What size TV are you replacing? Some of the LCD TVs have a Class 2 transformer power supply providing 12 volts to the TV. You could go directly from the cigarette lighter type socket to the TV with a straight through 12 volt cable.

That would also lower its draw as well wouldn't it?

Yes, it would be slightly better as you wouldn't have the inverter overhead loss.
