Engine Monitors

I have been talking to a few full timers that have Silver leaf monitors. I know my factory dash readouts give me some of this information. But not sure if it is really worth it. Right now they have the 120 version for $400, a refurb 200 for about $900 and I know I would be in the dog house if I bought the 240 color model for about $2,000. Just wondering who has either the 120 or 200 and pros and cons for the unit. And then one person told me the Scan Gauge for $160 has all the same features, but from their website I would disagree.

Have you thought about the JIB and VMSpc software? Thats what I did and I am very happy

i like the PC setup, but did not want to have a PC turned on the dash at all times.

I wished RV manufactures would always provide turbo boost and exhaust gas temp. After doing some hard mountain climbing or high speed towing, the turbo can get 900 degrees. Turning off the engine too quickly can burn up your turbo.. Not Cheap to replace... $$$$

I run VMSpc and Street Atlas on a laptop that sets on the left side of the dash out of the way. I seldom ever look at the dash gages anymore. I find it very helpful pulling the high mountain passes. Have never had a problem with the laptop setting on the dash.

I personally like how customizable the VMSpc software is... You can build your own dash
