Howdy folks, does anyone out there make a long range, exterior grade Wireless unit for use on the Cricket Wireless networks?

Cricket's little USB pods are great, so long as you don't live in an aluminum can and on the fringe range of their towers.

Sadly, they're one of two wireless providers that you can even get decent coverage with on the island and the less expensive of the two.

But, after trying a neighbors wireless pod, I've found that I cannot get a good signal with it in my camper because of the Faraday effect of the aluminum skin, which means I need an external antenna of some kind, which I haven't found yet.

Cricket utilizes CDMA technology of 1900 MHz frequency in all the areas they operate. Any 1900 MHz amplifier will work. Check out Wilson Electronics as they are the largest manufacturer of personal cellular amps. Cell Phone Signal Boosters and Antennas at Wilson Electronics - Wilson Electronics Inc.

Do their amps work free standing by rebroadcasting the signal? None of Criket's USB pods has an external antenna mount that I could see.
