Flickering ads w/Firefox

and slow "getting" characters from keyboard strokes (there is a variable delay from key press & mouse "selection" of text to screen reflecting what is typed or clicked).

Anybody know what causes that?
Or how to cure it?
Doesn't affect any other app I'm aware of.
Thanks, Mike

Don- Thanks for the adblockplus referral.
That didn't change the problem (adblock says no restart needed).

The flickering ads are not a problem themselves, the text/click issue is. Another feature is if I right-click something to bring up a menu, menu is black rectangle till I put the cursor within it.
Any other thoughts?

Mike,

What version of Firefox are you using? I haven't seen that, and I have used it for years. You might also check your plugins (Tools/Add-ons menu) to make sure everything is up to date.
