My dealer in Alberta here sent me an e-mail stating they are an installer/dealer for these EFOY fuel cell generators. Looks like it converts methanol into DC electricity and a small amount of carbon dioxide. Any opinions on these? I can't seem to find a price anywhere....

Last one I saw like this wasn't all that expensive, used cartridges for fuel, auto started on low battery, and put out something like 100 watts. From the tech specs page, these may have been the product.

That makes it a very slow and expensive battery charger.

It might be useful if you can't find space for a solar system, don't use the air conditioner or other major loads, and want to avoid running a genset.

They are very interesting, however they are also low power the 210 can basically keep a pair of GC-2's charged if you run 'em down in 12 hours of normal use.

As I recall they are kind of pricy too.

But They are very interesting, Very very interesting. If I had the money I'd give 'em serious consideration.

I think I'd still want my ONAN for back up though... Wife has Eva Gabor disease (Can't count to 3)
