Fuzzy higher cable channels

Getting fuzzy TV cable reception on higher channels when hooked up through the switch box. Satellite works great, so does antenna. Lower channels are clear until channels go above 25-30, then get real fuzzy. When I run the cable directly through the window all works fine but hooking it up in the electrical bay so it goes through the box, that's when higher cable channels get fuzzy. Any ideas or suggestions on how to fix? New switch box didn't help. Thanks!

i’ve been a ham since the early 1980’s. my experience over that timeus that most situations involving coaxial cable usually can be traced back to bad or improperly sttached connectors. you have at least two...one in the bay and the other at the box-of-many-boxes. i’d start there.

Get yourself a length of cable long enough to go from your tv to electrical bay and an F-81, aka a barrel connector. Connect one end to the tv and the other to your input cable and verify you have good pictures.

Now, it’s a process of elimination. Move the non-tv end to the input of your switch box. Then the output of your switch box and continue until the tv picture gets bad.

Make sure your antenna amplifier is turned off. It will cause fuzzy cable reception if left on.

Yes, it will make all of them fuzzy, not just the ones above 25-30.
