I have the 2610 right now. Really nice in the car, but the screen is a little small in the RV, especially since the dash on my rv (where the gps is mounted) is very far from me...I am looking at the 7200 just for the RV...and still use the 2610 in my toad and other cars.

Take a look at the Lowrance iWay 500C - it too has a large screen.

Yes, it's mount can be used in either. But much better than the 500C is the 600C. And, if you have a boat, the 600C also has 3000 lake maps built in - so I use it 3 ways: truck, RV, boat.

Where it could be mounted was not the question. The question you replied to was nearly 2 years old and he was asking if there were settings in the software that would adjust the routing based on the vehicle being a car, truck or RV.

I have a 7200 which sits in front of me in the motorhome - on the peak of the dash - attached perminantly. I bought another dash mount and attached a sirus suction mount to the back of it and attach it to the windshield of the toad to stabalize it while it sits on the dash (not stuck to the dash surface). It works great. It is easily visable and I feel safer because of it's larger screen.

Your right, I missed that part. But the answer is yes on the 600C, from the routing preference screen you can adjust different aspects of a routing, such as more HWY or more small roads, or aviod toll, etc., but you would have to go in and adjust these when changing vehicles - e.g. there is not memory like setting for "car" settings or "rv" settings.

I have (in the family) the 2610, 2720, and the Nuvi 350. My favorite is the older StreetPilots (2610 & 2720) largely because they come with a remote control making it esy to change zoom settings as required. With the 350, you must reach the touchscreen to make any changes.
That said, if you want a music player, photo viewer, etc, then the 350 offers that.

Between the 26 and 27 series, the major difference is improved screeen resolution and a "dumbing down" of user setting capability in the 27 Series. Most significant advantage of the 26 series it the ability to display navigation information with translucent characters making the viewable area of maps likely 50% larger than the 2720. 2610 - now discontinued - can be had refurbished at probably the lowest price of the tree and the resolution is certainly acceptable. bob

I have to say that my 2720 is a bit "dumbed down" from by 2610 but the ease of operation is greatly improved. I had not used my 2610 for awhile and was going to sell it to my Mom (no comments, please, it just business). I plugged it in and we drove around a bit. After doing so I no longer made the offer as the functional use of the 2720 was so much better I simply could not recommend this unit any longer.
Anyone need a 2610? I have one available CHEAP!
I do want to thank you for the Nuvi information. I REALLY like new stuff whether I need it or not and I have been looking at the 100 or so! various Garmin units! Personally, I think Garmin has lost their minds offering so many different variations but it's not my business.
I know I would have to have "at least" a screen as large as my 2720 and I don't really care about MP3, Weather, Traffic, Hands-free phone or anything else not related to GPS. I just want a GPS that will work as a GPS.
