Garmin 760LMT Problems

I just got my 760LMT and used it the first time today although not in RV but in my car as a test run. I noticed that the charger gets really hot! Almost too hot to touch. Still debating whether or not to return it. Just wondering if anyone else has this problem. JPB

My guess is you programmed the routing option for "shortest route" which usually gets you there on secondary or poorer roads ( our dirt trails in mountainous areas) rather than the "fastest route" that most likely uses major arteries. I can attest to this from personal experience. Good luck,

What does this have to do with the charger?

Agree - absolutely nothing. Apologize - I was replying to another thread when I lost my reply and didnt realize i had returned to the wrong thread when i went back to the forum. Your unit might have a defective battery and try another charger if have one. Good luck,

Just received mine no issues after an hour. My only complaint, it doesn't stay stuck to window, hard plastic, nothing. Poor mount

We've used our on many trips with drive time of 6 to 8 hrs and never had it run hot at the charger. I would be get a return started ASAP!!

Good GPS sadly you just got a defective one.

Hot

I would likely send it back
I used mine for the first time last weekend and it was fine after 3 hours.

Maybe thick but what charging unit? Are you talking the power cord, the plugin? Just like my cell phones the charging battery area gets rather warm. Did you charge the unit before 1st use? Are you plugged into the 12 volt power while using?
