So there isn't any way to get the campground icons on the screen so you can see them when you're traveling?

The gas station icons are a pia. Half of them are not big rig friendly. Same with the restaurant icons.

To add POI files you must use POI loader and you should use manual mode with alerts set. To display campgrounds, you must also have a campground icon to display. Name of poi file and icon file must match except for file extension: eg; campgrounds_gatso.csv; campgrounds_gatso.bmp. Using the tag "gatso" is one of the tags to make pois appear on map. You should read the Garmin info on custom POIs. "safety" is another tag that is useful: low clearance_safety.csv, low clearance_safety.bmp.
I have mine set to alert 3000 ft prior to poi.
Also lots of good information on POI Factory.

what website is the best to get the icons on the screen with the proper file icons? All I am interested in is RV parks gas stations and low clearance at this point.

After speaking with Garmin technical support today they informed me that you can only get poi for campgrounds in the list and the icon for that Campground will not show up on the map. they said the 770 LMT-S it's not capable of that.

I am not exactly sure what Garmin is saying regarding displaying icons. I assume they are saying that they do not display icons for the built in POIs. I have had success in displaying icons for custom POIs. See attached screen shot from my 770 - which shows 2 campgrounds and a Flying J. I will post details in another post.
