I received notification from Garmin that the map data for my 2620 StreetPilot has been updated . . . from Version 7 to Version 8 . . . anyone know if it's worth the $75 charge for the update?

I have a Garmin iQue 3600 with City Select 5.0. My wife has a new Garmin M4 with the latest maps & POIs. I see quite a difference between those too versions.

I've asked Santa for the newest map set. In my case, it's worth it. Don't know about yours as yours isn't as old.

Since posting the original question, I went ahead and got the update. I'm thinking it's good to keep it updated. Thanks.

I used to have a 2610 and the updates were $150. I did the update kicking and screaming and the benefit was questionable. However, we travel full-time and we NEED the most up-to-date information available.
With V.8 they reduced the price to $75 per update and I signed up the day it was available. Yes, update your Garmin. We now have the 2720 and we got our update DVD but it was the wrong version, they are now out of the right version and we are still stuck on V.7 until they can get their act together. Paid the $75 bucks, have nothing, waiting for order fulfillment.
Bought Garmin stock awhile back. I'm a pretty happy camper!
